Simplair A.E Hood

A reusable air-fed chemically protective hood designed for use with breathable air supplied from an external positive pressure compressed air source.

Available in a range of chemical resistant fabrics and with a choice of visor styles, the hood provides partial body (PB) protection and is designed to be worn with a suitable protective suit or jacket and trousers.

Product Features

  • Internal air system provides breathing air to the user
  • PVC visor (with optional outer cover) which minimises visual distortion
  • Internal low-flow warning whistle indicates if airflow into the suit drops below the required level
  • Twin Exhalation valves maintain a comfortable working pressure in the suit
  • Draw-string neck seal fitted as standard, rubber neck seal available as an option
  • Three-point hanging system helps prevent distortion during storage
  • Front & rear cape panels provide protection to the wearer’s chest area
  • A wide range of approved airline couplings can be fitted to the Hood, but large bore couplings are recommended
  • Adjustable waist belt with a foam back pad comfortably supports the air system

*The Simplair AE Hood has been assessed by a notified body as satisfying Annex II of the PPE regulation (EU) 2016/425 using technical standards EN 14594 ‘Respiratory Protective Devices. Continuous flow air line breathing apparatus’ and EN 14605 Protective clothing against liquid chemicals - Performance requirements for clothing with liquid tight (Type 3) or spry-tight (Type 4) connections, including items providing protection to parts of the body only (Types PB[3] and PB [4]).

Note: The Simplair AE Hood provides Type 3, liquid-tight chemical protection when worn with a matching Respirex reusable one-peice suit or jacket and trousers.
